Tsavo National Park is an off-jumping point for a thrilling safari, Kenya’s largest wildlife preserve and one of the most diverse wildlife regions of Africa, throughout the year most of the continents big game animals can be observed here, the wildlife reserve is especially renowned for its extensive lion population whose ancestors were vilified more than a 100 years ago as the maneaters of Tsavo. With more than 100 different types of mammals the biodiversity here can be overwhelming.
From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below hence some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world.
On arrival a representative from JABARI will pick you from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and whisk you off to Wilson airport for your next destination flight. A scheduled light flight will fly you to the rugged Tsavo West National Park. Check in will be at the Finch Hatton’s where you will spend the next 3 nights in an exclusive luxury tented suite with an ensuite bathroom.
Finch Hatton’s is an isolated camp situated in Tsavo west that while staying here you would be forgiven for forgetting the rest of the world exists at all. In this place, it’s just you, the vast and varied terrain that stretches in every direction, and the many beasts and birds that call it home. Your relaxation spaces will include an infinity pool and the Chyulu Spa, home to an elevated yoga deck, an infinity pool, two treatment areas, a hammam and a fitness Centre. There’s no shortage of activities to keep you entertained on your luxury safari at Finch Hatton’s. Day and night game drives, bush walks, full-day hikes and outings to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Mzima Springs, Chyulu Hills, Amboseli National Park and Lake Jipe are all on offer. A cultural visit to the Maasai town of Iltilal can also be arranged, where you can observe the traditions of the Maasai people first-hand. Choose to spend your day at leisure in the camp, relaxing on one of the Hatton’s many viewing decks, Watch the residents’ hippos and crocodiles wallow in the nearby springs, or enjoy an indulgent massage at the spa.
This marks the end day to your stay at the Finch Hatton’s, tuck in leisurely breakfast, enjoy the mid-morning at leisure. You will be transferred to the airstrip for a light charter flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Wilson airport, a representative from JABARI will be transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your next destination flight.
