What To Expect

Journey Overview

I loved this country and I felt at home and where a man feels at home outside of where he’s born, is where he’s meant to go Ernest Hemingway

Kenya is the perfect starting point for an exhilarating safari adventure. This carefully designed itinerary brings together some of the country’s finest wildlife reserves, offering an unforgettable journey through Kenya’s most iconic landscapes.

Your safari begins in Nairobi before heading to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, where wildlife sightings are abundant and the vast plains teem with animals. The journey continues to Lake Nakuru National Park, located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, where you can admire the spectacular sight of vibrant flamingos gathering along the lake’s shores.

The adventure continues as you travel to the land of the African elephant, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, the sweeping scenery and thriving wildlife create a truly remarkable experience.

To complete this extraordinary safari, you will explore Kenya’s southern circuit, home to a “sleeping giant” — Tsavo, the country’s largest wildlife preserve and one of Africa’s most diverse ecosystems. Throughout the year, many of the continent’s iconic big game animals can be observed here. The reserve is particularly famous for its large lion population, whose ancestors were once feared as the legendary man-eaters of Tsavo over a century ago.

With more than 100 species of mammals, the biodiversity in this region is truly astounding.

The safari itinerary is as follows:

Itinerary

DAY 0: ENROUTE

Your adventure begins when you enplane for Africa.

Soon after you land in Nairobi, a representative from JABARI safaris will whisk you away to your city stay hotel Sarova Stanley, a charming facility overlooking the Nairobi Central Business District. The Stanley was home to adventurers, seekers, writers, artists and celebrities. Named after the journalist turned explorer HM Stanley commissioned to find the infamous Dr Livingstone, it was the first hotel in Kenya, the venue for the first address from England’s reigning Queen as Monarch, the first post office and the first stock exchange in Kenya.

Walking through the Sarova Stanley, every corner hosts stunning black and white portraits representing a journey through time. The chequered black and white flooring in the lobby is original to only 34 Heritage hotels worldwide, built in the era. From images of Princess Elizabeth just before she became Britain’s sovereign to photos of Ernest Hemingway and his wife cuddling a lion cub it is filled with stories of people and events that, while contributing to the hotel’s lore, have had a profound effect on Kenyan and global history. The Stanley will always be a Historic institution in Nairobi, as important to the country’s heritage as it is to its hospitality.
