Destination Overview

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most popular and most accessible savannah reserve and is home to elephant, buffalo, leopard, numerous antelope species and the famous tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha Plains. It is home to 618 bird species which is the 6th highest diversity in the world and the highest in Africa making it a perfect destination for Birding Safaris. The park was named after the Queen of England in 1954 following her visit.

1. Ishasha Wilderness Camp

Situated in a remote reach of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a tranquil retreat set on the banks of the Ntungwe River. Blending perfectly into their wild natural setting, just ten spacious tented rooms create a true refuge in the wilderness. Large, mosquito-netted beds look out onto private verandas with beautiful river views. Kasenyi Safari Camp is strategically located on the rim of Lake Bunyampaka in the Kasenyi savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The camp has an elevated dining structure that is meticulously thatched. The tents are on platforms with a thatched canopy roof. There are eight tents all with en-suite bathrooms, spacious living areas and private decks. Many animals frequent the camp during day & at night. Lion prides, hippo, leopard, buffalo, elephant, waterbuck, hyena and warthog are frequently seen.
