Always designated as a ‘private camp’ it has fiercely protected its individuality and privileged location as one of the most ‘magical’ places it is possible to visit in safari Africa. From Beho Beho it is possible to explore a unique array of environmental biodiversity, from the riverine forests, miombo woodlands and plains to the fascinating lake regions of Tagalala and Mwanze.

On arrival you will be picked by our representative who will transfer you to Jongomero Camp – the only accommodation within the spectacular Ruaha National Park. For anyone seeking an authentic African adventure, a visit to Ruaha National Park is essential. Remembered for the rapids of the Great Ruaha River and its rugged landscape of undulating hills, rocky outcrops, and a horizon studded with the imposing silhouettes of the iconic baobab; no other park in Tanzania epitomizes the definition of “Wild Africa” quite like Ruaha. Whilst being the second largest National Park in Tanzania, Ruaha also holds a special significance as it covers a unique transition zone where the Eastern and Southern biomes intersect offering an extraordinary diversity of animals, plants and birds. There are upwards of 570 species of birds. Indeed, half of all Tanzania’s birds may be glimpsed in this park, making it one of the continent’s premier birding destinations.
Accommodation at Jongomero comprises eight large and well-appointed tented suites, built on raised wooden platforms, under enormous thatched roofs that also encompass a spacious private deck which overlooks the dry riverbed.
Snuggle under warming quilts in an enormous reclaimed-dhow wooden bed; fall asleep to the sounds of Africa beyond the canvas; and wake up to the morning tea / coffee tray. You will often find animals ambling past your tent in search of water and food. The ultimate remote off-the-beaten track safari experience.
