Itinerary

DAYS 1–3: KIBALE FOREST, UGANDA

Begin your journey with a scenic private transfer to Kibale, passing through vibrant towns and villages. Once in Kibale, venture into the heart of the forest on a guided trek in search of its most iconic resident, the chimpanzee. Accompanied by an expert guide, explore the forest trails while looking for other wildlife, including bush pigs and elusive forest elephants. You’ll also explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for birdlife and primates, where you may spot various monkey species and the striking great blue turaco.

Accommodation: Kyaninga Lodge (2 nights)

From Kibale, journey south to the remote Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This drier, less-traveled area is renowned for its unique population of tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging in the fig trees. Explore the park on private game drives, keeping watch for elephants, buffalo, and of course, the iconic lions. Other memorable experiences include a scenic cruise along the Kazinga Channel, teeming with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an abundance of birdlife. Enhance your stay with unforgettable bush breakfasts and candlelit dinners under the stars.

Accommodation: Ishasha Wilderness Camp (2 nights)

Following a final game drive, travel to the remote southwestern corner of Uganda and the extraordinary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—renowned as one of the last refuges of the endangered mountain gorilla. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining population, making it one of the few places on Earth where you can encounter these remarkable primates in their natural habitat.

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience, guided through dense forest trails in search of a habituated family group. Witness heartwarming moments as young gorillas play and adults forage in the wild.

During your stay, you’ll also have the chance to engage with the surrounding community on an insightful village visit or explore the lush ecosystem further on guided walks. Your adventure concludes with a scenic light aircraft flight back to Entebbe, where you’ll connect with your international departure.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge (3 nights)

Enjoy stunning deck views over the forest canopy, offering a perfect place to unwind after your treks.

As your unforgettable Ekisinde—your journey through wild Uganda—comes to a close, you’ll leave with far more than photographs. From locking eyes with a mountain gorilla in the misty depths of Bwindi to drifting above the savannah in a hot air balloon, every moment has connected you more deeply to the rhythms of nature and the spirit of this remarkable country.

With memories of vibrant communities, thrilling wildlife encounters, and serene landscapes still fresh in your mind, you return home transformed—carrying a piece of Uganda with you, and a newfound understanding of its heart, soul, and untamed beauty.
